Ok, first off, here’s a poll on the “BEST” Paranormal Romance series… There’s a list of 400 books, many of which seem to be one series (such as all four Twilight books are listed separately, then a box set of the series is a fifth entry, the Black Dagger Brotherhood has multiple books listed, etc). Might be fun to look at and find some new authors! Ok, I’m fixing to start up Da Hubband’s and my old radio show on http://www.blogtalkradio.com/egads
This time, I’ll have a daytime show that I’m gonna call Witchy reads with Di, and I’m gonna try to get some of the authors on my list to come on. Hopefully they won’t mind that I have, like, ZERO listeners. I’m going to do some promo work that I’ve found with http://mombloggers.com and http://twittermoms.com and a few other sites that I’m connected to so I’ll get a listener base, plus start pushing it’s myspace page a whole lot more again (http://www.myspace.com/egadsbtr). I really want to get something up and going. These reviews were something I really wanted to get going with a site I worked for before I got Freaky Parents (http://www.freakyparents.net) up and running, but I had a falling out with the owner of that site before things got going with it, and I’m just now getting back on my feet emotionally and physically (had a bad winter and my fibro kicked my arse after the falling out) to be able to get things going.
I am VERY passionate about these authors and their books, and would dearly love to get to know them better. Ironic, when I’ve considered myself a musician all my life, now I’m more passionate about writing and things on the internet than my music, but that’s another blog altogether.
Review- Kitty and the Silver Bullet by Carrie Vaughn (Kitty Norville #4) (SPOILERS! Sorry! I tried!)

Book Four of the Kitty Norville series, yup, I’m doing it again, stepping into the middle of a series. :) I spotted it in the book section at Wal Mart, and recognized it as one of the authors I wanted to start reading, and one of the series I wanted, so… picked it up. Anyway, on with the review. :D
Next up I believe will be Undead On Arrival from LA Banks

Kitty’s radio show is as popular as ever and she has a boyfriend who actually seems to understand her. Can she finally settlle down to a normal live? Not if this is just the calm before the storm. When her mother falls ill, Kitty rushes back to Denver — and right back to the abusive pack of werewolves she escaped a year ago. To make matters worse, a war is brewing between the city’s two oldest vampires, threatening the whole supernatural community. THough she wants to stay neutral, Kitty is again drawn into a world of politics and violence. To protect her family, her lover, and herself, she’ll have to choose sides. As I said earlier, this was my first foray into the world of Kitty Norville, and I have to say, I LOVED IT! Kitty and Ben were likeable characters. Kitty was flawed, and human. Ben was arrogant and very much an Alpha male, and every inch your typical lawyer. I like them both. I enjoyed watching them interact with each other, and feeling out their relationship in this book (I figured out pretty quickly that their wolf sides had mated previously, and that they were deciding whether or not they wanted to go along for the ride). The use of “We’re pack, we take care of each other” or something like that throughout the book, to each other to the point of making them both wonder if that’s the only reason they’re together was an interesting sideline, because I was fairly certain that Kitty loved him (even if she wasn’t!)
It was a great read, and I am DEFINITELY looking forward to reading more of the series. Carrie Vaughn has done a wonderful job of creating characters that you either love, or love to hate (Carl and Meg anyone?) It was a fast read, partly because I really couldn’t put it down, and once I’d finished it, I went back and re-read some sections, because I knew I’d missed parts because I’m (unfortunately) adhd and tend to skip at least words if not full sentences, so I go back to action scenes and re-read them to get the full scope of it.

When Kitty’s dad called to tell her that her mom was going in for surgery because she’d found a lump, I immediately felt for her. My own mother is a breast cancer survivor, so this storyline hit home for me. I fully understood why Kitty would say “to hell with the were and vampire politics, my mom’s sick, and I’m going to be there for her!” Watching her family go through this I remembered what it was like to watch my own mother go through her treatments.
This was an excellent book.
